USCIS specifies that the asylum seekers may bring an immigration lawyer to an asylum interview. Help from an immigration lawyer during the interview may be decisive, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that if you hire a lawyer to present your case, your asylum application will be approved automatically.
All a lawyer can do during your asylum interview is help you express your thoughts consistently to make sure that the asylum officer believes what you say. Also, a lawyer can understand whether an officer’s questions abide by the immigration law.
